This is the most standard type of powered conveyors that you’ll see in businesses. They are extremely simple devices but are great for moving products. A motor is used to turn a system of pulleys, which then causes the belt to move forward.
Looking to take your conveyor systems to the next level? Chute conveyors will take your packages to a lower part of the warehouse by creating a friendly metal slide for your packages to use. They are very cheap but since they rely on gravity, your packages may get damaged during their move.
Gravity conveyors use a long series of wheels at a slight decline so that your packages roll along without needing to use electricity to power the process.
The close relative of the gravity conveyor except these utilize a chair, or belt, to move your packages as opposed to gravity. This not only removes the need for the decline, but sometimes can also allow your packages to go uphill.
Bucket conveyor systems are the perfect solution for scooping up any materials that need to be moved vertically to another part of the warehouse. It’s made up of a series of buckets that are attached to a chain, cable, or belt. The buckets scoop up your product, carries it to the new location, then dumps the materials.
With a ball transfer conveyor, you no longer have to worry about the direction of travel for your products. These systems operate by utilizing a series of balls that can rotate in any direction as needed. When you have multiple products converging into a central location then this is great for sorting products heading to a new conveyor or to assist with organizing them.
Slat conveyors operate much like the treads of a tank. You have a series of flat, individual, often metallic pieces that are connected to a chain on the underside. The chain moves the slats forward while the slats provide a nice surface to rest your products on. Additionally, you can add hooks and handles to the slats to fit whatever product you’re looking to transport, even if they are oddly shaped.
If you’re moving heavy products then you’ll need to go with an industrial conveyor belt solution. Chain conveyor systems are much like their slat and belt counterparts but instead utilize chains to move the products. These belts are often low to the ground and are used for your bigger products.
Trolley conveyors are unique because they are ceiling mounted and carry products below. Often times there is a belt housed inside a metal casing that can manually or electronically be pulled along. Additionally, it’s not uncommon for two metal casings to be alongside one another where one is moved automatically while pulling the other along with it.
Take a trolley conveyor, turn it right side up, attach it to the floor instead of the ceiling, and you’ve got a monorail conveyor system. This rail carries material from underneath.
These conveyors have a stable, unmovable top surface, with magnets underneath. As the magnets mover underneath, your products move across the surface.
These conveyors are some of the toughest and most durable belts which make it great for food processing, gravel, and fabrication. The conveyor vibrates slightly to gently move bulk material along it. They come in multiple forms including tubes, troughs, and flat tops.
